Dare County Arts Council, 300 Queen Elizabeth Ave, Manteo

Dare County Arts Council invites you to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the release of Bob Dylan's All Along The Watchtower featuring the fiber art of local artist Janet Stapelman with live performances from Outer Banks musicians performing the music of Bob Dylan.

Experimenting with light and color interactions on the subtly changing surfaces, Ms. Stapelman's unusual fiber art is a visual response to Dylan's lyrics. Playing in the background are classic covers of All Along the Watchtower performed by some of rock history's favorite musicians.

All Along The Watchtower will open on Friday, November 23. There will be an Open House from 3pm to 9pm on November 23 with live music beginning at 7pm. This special exhibit will remain on display through January 15, 2019.

Ms. Stapelman is a retired USA829 scenic artist and member of IATSE. For over 30 years she painted backdrops and scenery for Broadway. Her work has been onstage at Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, The Lion King, Les Miserables, Rent, Grease, Hairspray, and many, many more Broadway productions. She is a cofounder and former educational director and instructor of scene painting at The Studio and Forum of Scenic Art in Newburgh, New York. Ms. Stapelman believes that, "Every day is beautiful on the Outer Banks."
