After tallying over 200 nominations, Dare County Arts Council announces that photographer Daniel Pullen has been selected as the 2018 People’s Choice artist.

The People’s Choice Exhibit titled “Homesick” will debut new work that Pullen says is not his typical style.

“The show isn’t going to be filled with landscape and seascapes,” said photographer Daniel Pullen. “The premise is, if I passed away or was not able to make it back to Hatteras Island, what would I miss most, my daily routine, my rut, etc. ”

The exhibit will remain on display in the DCAC Gallery in downtown Manteo through November 30.

About Daniel Pullen

Daniel is an award-winning, internationally published documentary photographer. His life and work centers around pursuing the art of the photograph. The Hatteras Island native began pursing photography in his teens and gained notoriety for his unique style: a marriage of art, surf, and documentary photography by his early 20s.

Today, Daniel teaches photography workshops at his studio in Buxton and photographs surfing, wildlife, weddings, portraits and everything in between. He is set to publish his first book, “The Independent Waterman” later this year.
