The Dare County Board of Commissioners expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Walter Holton in recognition of his 44 years of dedicated service to the people of Dare County at the June 4 board meeting.

During the presentation, Chairman Bob Woodard recognized Holton for his work providing much needed medical care over many years and laying the building blocks of the medical system we enjoy today by championing the development of 24 hour emergency medical services. Woodard said that Holton has made the Outer Banks a better place through his distinguished service as a medical professional, volunteer and friend to the community.
