MMS students' March Madness project with Sentinel newspapers

Students in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) class at Manteo Middle School, taught by Kelsey Oglesby, participated in a Team Building activity coordinated by 6th and 7th Grades Middle School Career Development Coordinator Ashley Basnight. Students were given newspaper, supplied by the Sentinel, masking tape and a basketball. Their challenge was to build the tallest tower possible that would support a basketball for 20 seconds. They had 20 minutes to complete their March Madness themed task.
