Katherine Schuster

First Flight High School phenom Katherine Schuster captured the North Carolina Junior Girls’ Golf Championship held at the Wilson Country Club in Wilson N.C. on Friday, June 14

A Kill Devil Hills resident, the unassuming Schuster won the title by defeating Maria Atwood of Holly Springs N.C. in the tournament finals.  In the tournament’s semi-final match, Schuster — a rising junior at First Flight — defeated Deborah Spair of Raleigh N.C.

Schuster’s trophy case is already getting crowded. She boasts a very impressive resume that includes winning the prestigious National 2018 Drive, Chip and Putt Competition at the storied Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia and capturing two high school state individual championships in 2017 and 2018.
