Three men from Hertford were killed in a head-on collision in Grandy yesterday morning, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The three men, Tyrell Davis, 30, Kristopher Midgett, 29, and Marquarize Hunter, 23, all of Hertford, were traveling in a vehicle in the northbound lane of Rt. 158 when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck the second vehicle. Three people in the second vehicle were injured and hospitalized. The Highway Patrol spokesman did not know their identities.

The accident took place just south of Edgewater Drive in Grandy. The Highway Patrol said it was notified of the crash at 7:22 a.m.

Thoughts & prayers to these young men's loved ones. That's a rough shift and a long drive back. Heartbreaking. Bad enough when we lose young people to the streets , but devastating when they were just doing the responsible thing.
